Made by Juniji Hotta in the Ibanez Custom Shop in 1999 for Joe Satriani’s personal approval on the final design concept!

The JS2K, aka the JS2K Planet, the Y2K, the Crystal Planet is a millennium limited Joe Satriani signature model solid transparent acrylic body electric guitar by Ibanez.
This one of a kind Bananas exclusive is the prototype, from Joe Satriani’s private collection, for an edition of only 200 made.
The body is made of transparent acrylic and is luminescent. The pickup selector, the pickups, the head, and the silver dots inlaid on the JS neck rosewood fretboard glow under UV lights and are reflective inside the body.
The two undressed pickups are a DiMarzio FRED for the bridge and a PAF Pro for the neck, featuring the usual hi-pass filter that can be activated on the volume pot, and a coil-tap on the tone pot. The knobs are barrel-shaped and graduated and that is a pretty rare feature for a JS guitar. Its weight is a bit heavier that the average JS series at 4.8 kg (10.5 lbs), and it features a Lo Pro Edge for the bridge.
