When you have a wide mid-range peak and not much bass or treble, the result is a sound that’s chunky for rhythm and hot for solos, with harmonics and overtones jumping out easily. Dimarzio designed the Double Whammy for locking-tremolo guitars, where a to-thin sound might need filling out. it’s a great bridge pick-up for any guitar when your amp is hot, and you can’t afford low- end mud or high-end screech.
