About McConnell Custom Guitars and the Turbocaster:
Kevin McConnell started building electric guitars 20 years ago, all because he got tired of modifying and improving stock off-the-shelf guitars.
He started building standard Tele style guitars, using very light weight & very resonant Paulownia wood, and light/ resonant Okoume wood, both of which provide great tone.
As his guitar building evolved so did the shape of the bodies and headstock.
The Turbocaster features very high end premium hardware, including Hipshot Locking Tuners, GraphTech Saddles & Nut and a high quality Bridge.
It also features EMG T52-Set pickups.
All Turbocasters are hand made in Port Townsend, Washington, and feature Lacquer finishes.
